Personally, I think its all in good marketing skills to make this movie. Horror directors are smart, they know people are gonna piss and moan about sequels like this and still go see the movie anyway. So it still makes money. Death in movies is like the new sex...it sells.
Also, I just like seeing creative kills in a horror film. I don't expect the plot to rock, but I know the kills will. I'm gonna see it.
